Louis Bontes (born February 28, 1956 in Rotterdam ) is a Dutch politician . Until October 2013 he was a member of the Partij voor de Vrijheid (PVV) faction in the Second Chamber of the States General. In spring 2014 he founded the VoorNederland party , for which he remained in the Second Chamber until March 2017.

Life

After finishing school, Bontes completed a degree in higher police training at De Haagse Hogeschool in The Hague and at Utrecht University . For many years he was employed by the Dutch police in Rotterdam . Bontes became a supporter of Geert Wilder's Partij voor de Vrijheid and represented the PVV from July 14, 2009 to June 17, 2010 as a member of the European Parliament . From June 17, 2010, Bontes was a member of the Second Chamber of the States General . On October 29, 2013, he was expelled from the PVV parliamentary group.

He is one of the 89 people from the European Union against whom Russia imposed an entry ban in May 2015 .

Bontes lives in Hellevoetsluis .
