Louis Cozolino

Louis John Cozolino (born April 16, 1953 in New York City ) is an American clinical psychologist , psychotherapist and professor at Pepperdine University in California.

Cozolino holds degrees in theology and philosophy from Harvard University and the State University of New York and a PhD in clinical psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Cozolino has published numerous articles and four books, all of which are published by WW Norton & Company in New York City .

He conducts research on schizophrenia , child abuse, and the long-term effects of stress , and is deeply involved in neurosciences and their impact on, and implications for, psychotherapy.

In addition to teaching and researching, Louis Cozolino also runs a private practice in Beverly Hills .
