Louis Eugène Roy ( 1861 - October 27, 1939 in Port-au-Prince ) was a Haitian politician and President of Haiti .

biography

Roy was an influential and well-known banker and president of the National Clearing House . On May 15, 1930 he was elected by the commander of the US occupation forces and high commissioner in Haiti, the later commander of the US Marine Corps , Major General John H. Russell, Jr. , to succeed Louis Bornó as interim president of Haiti. As such, he promised to hold presidential elections in the National Assembly, held on October 14, 1930, in accordance with his promises.

On November 18, 1930, he handed over the presidency to the winner of the presidential election, Sténio Vincent .
