Louis Maurin
Louis Maurin (born January 5, 1869 in Cherbourg , † June 6, 1956 in Paris ) was a French général d'armée and politician .
biography
After training at the Ecole Polytechnique , he trained as an officer of artillery , during which he eventually becoming General advancement.
From November 8, 1934 to June 7, 1935 he was Minister of War in the governments of Pierre-Étienne Flandin and Fernand Bouisson . He again held the office of Minister of War from January 24 to June 4, 1936 in Albert Sarraut's cabinet . During his tenure, the Maginot Line was expanded .
His son, General François Maurin , was Chief of the General Staff of the French Armed Forces from 1971 to 1975 .
