Louis Pienaar

Louis Alexander Pienaar (born June 26, 1926 - † November 5, 2012 in Cape Town ) was a South African lawyer, diplomat and politician . From 1985 to 1990 Pienaar was the de facto head of state of the country as the administrator general of South West Africa .

Pienaar was from October 24, 1975 to February 7, 1980, he was ambassador in Paris . From 1985 until Namibia's independence on March 21, 1990 the South African general administrator of the country . He was then Minister of Education in Frederik Willem de Klerk's cabinet and Minister of the Interior from May 1992 to April 1993.
