The lounge hall Louise-Gueury-Straße 398 is in the Hardter Wald district in Mönchengladbach ( North Rhine-Westphalia ).

The building was built in 1907/08. It was entered under no. L 029 on September 7, 1988 in the monuments list of the city of Mönchengladbach .

location

The choice of the building site for the city. The pulmonary hospital required precise planning due to the special requirements. A suitable site was found about five kilometers west of the city center, in the Hardter Forest , where a total of four larger buildings were erected. Sanatorium with administration building, welfare center for lung patients, forest recreation center and forest school.

The lounge area belongs to the Louise Gueury Foundation. The wooden structure is located in a clearing north of the main clinic building . The lounge hall, which can accommodate around 20 people, was built around 1907/08 in a Nordic timber construction. The hall is an elongated building, angled from the center, with a pent roof at the end . A small pavilion covered by a bell roof (with a bell attachment ) marks the center of the complex. At the front, the lounge hall is closed by wooden blinds. The roof structure was erected in an unusual construction with crossed struts for internal reinforcement.
