The Louisiadenkrähenstar ( Cracticus louisiadensis ), also called Louisiadenmetzgervogel or Louisiadenkrähenwürger called, is a species of bird in the family of Swallow Star relatives (Artamidae). It is endemic to Tagula Island in the Louisiade Archipelago .
features
The Louisiadenkrähenstar reaches a size of 27 to 30 cm. The blue-gray beak is strong and has a black, hook-shaped tip. The plumage is predominantly black, except on the sides of the chest, where white spots can be seen and white stripes on the under wing covers, which are formed by two partially white umbrella feathers. The upper tail-coverts, the large spots on the tips of the outer tail feathers, the lower abdomen and the under-tail coverts are also white. The iris is dark brown, the legs are black. The sexes are similarly colored in the plumage, but the males are larger. The young birds have not yet been described.

status
The IUCN classifies the species in the category “too little data available” ( data deficient ). In the only extensive study of this species so far in 1992, ten specimens were observed on the north coast of Tagula at Mount Riu.
