Loumbila is both a municipality ( French commune rurale ) and a department encompassing the same area in the West African state of Burkina Faso in the Plateau Central region and the province of Oubritenga . The community has 27,771 inhabitants in 31 villages.
In the municipality there is a reservoir, which is used to supply water to the nearby capital Ouagadougou . The new capital city airport is to be built in the village of Donsin, which belongs to Loumbila.
