Ziniaré is both a commune ( French commune urbaine ) and a department encompassing the same area in the West African state of Burkina Faso , about 35 km northeast of the capital Ouagadougou , and has 62,026 inhabitants in the five sectors of the capital and another 48 villages. Ziniaré is the capital of the Plateau Central region and the province of Oubritenga .

The first market on the central plateau, mainly inhabited by Mossi, took place in Ziniaré .
