Love Is a Song is a song by Frank Churchill (music) and Larry Morey (lyrics) released in 1942.

Churchill and Morey wrote the song Love Is a Song (That Never Ends) as the theme melody for the Disney film Bambi (1942, directed by David Hand ). In the film, the song is presented by Donald Novis. Love Is a Song received an Oscar nomination for Best Song in 1943 .

Frank Churchill had dedicated the song Love is a Song to his wife Carolyn, who had been Walt Disney's personal secretary from 1930-34 before she married Churchill. Disney was dissatisfied with Churchill's work during the production of the Bambi film; Frustrated by the lack of recognition, the depressive and alcoholic composer committed suicide on May 14, 1942.

The film song was released on shellac by His Master's Voice (BD1021); Cover versions of the song took off in the early 1940s a. a. Teddy Powell (who released his version as an animated film ), the Bob Crosby Orchestra and in Europe The Blue Rockets and Fred Bohler / Hazy Osterwald .
