Luís Dias (pseudo-messiah)
Luís Dias (* 1505 in Viana do Alentejo , † 1542 in Lisbon ), the " Messiah of Setúbal " ( Portuguese Messias de Setúbal ), the port city south of Lisbon, was a Portuguese shoemaker and Jewish pseudo-messiah. He won many followers among Christians , old and new , was captured and burned in 1542 in a car dairy in Lisbon along with eighty-three of his followers.
