Lu Yuansheng

Lu Yuansheng - also Lu Yuan-Sheng , Chinese  陆元盛 , Pinyin Lù Yuánshèng - (* 1954 ) is a Chinese table tennis player and trainer. In 1975 he became world champion in team competition.

Career

Lu Yuansheng participated in the 1975 , 1977 and 1979 World Championships . In 1975 he was a member of the Chinese world championship team. Two years later he took silver in doubles with Huang Liang . In the ITTF world rankings , Lu Yuansheng was ranked 19th in June 1975.

In 1982 Lu Yuansheng ended his career as a competitive athlete. He then worked as a coach, from 1991 to 1995 for the men's national team, then he replaced Zhang Xielin as head coach for the women's team. In 2005 the office passed to Shi Zhihao , although under Lu Yuansheng's leadership the Chinese women had won all sorts of gold medals at the five world championships and three Olympic games. Since 2006 he has been an official at the Chinese Table Tennis Association.

Lu Yuansheng lives in Beijing.
