Huang Liang

Huang Liang ( Chinese  黄亮 , Pinyin Huáng Liàng ; born March 20, 1954 in Henan ) is a Chinese table tennis player . In 1977 he became world champion in team competition.

Career

Huang Liang was a defender. He used the bat in the shakehand style. He equipped his racket with different types of rubbers on both sides. This helped him to win high at the Yugoslav Open 1975 in Ljubljana over several top European players, as his opponents were helpless in the face of this game.

From 1977 to 1981, Huang Liang participated in three world championships . He became world champion with the Chinese team in Birmingham in 1977 . In doubles with Lu Yuansheng he reached the final, in singles he reached the semi-finals. In 1979 he won silver with the team and in 1981 bronze in mixed with Pu Qijuan.

In 1980 he entered the Asian Championships . Here he won the team competition, in the individual he was third.

In the ITTF world rankings , Huang Liang finished third in July 1977 and July 1978.
