course
The river rises as Lubilasch in the province of Katanga in the northern foothills of the central part of the Lundaschwelle . From its source, which is northeast of Kasaji or southeast of Kafakumba , it first flows north. After about 460 km the river changes its name to Sankuru . Its water falls over partly large waterfalls, after which it turns towards the west from Lusambo ; from this city on the Sankuru is navigable. At Bena-Bendi it flows into the Kasai.
