Look at Life is the first short film by screenwriter , producer and director George Lucas and was produced during his student days at the University of Southern California in 1965. The one-minute montage of images, accompanied by alternating quieter and faster guitar sounds, is a compilation of images from Life magazineand was recorded with 16 mm black and white film.

Accompanied by calm guitar sounds, a war victim is shown looking through a gap in a torn down fence. This is followed by conga rhythms and a quick burst of image changes. After coherent images of violence, politicians, political oppression and human suffering, the film pauses briefly and the word "LOVE" appears . Following are numerous symbols for love. The film ends with the words "ANYONE FOR SURVIVAL" , followed by "END" .
