The lynx pigeon is a breed of domestic pigeon , the domesticated form of the rock pigeon . It was bred in the middle of the 19th century from field refugees and white-tipped Silesian crooks. Lynx pigeons can weigh up to 1000 g and are therefore often bred for meat.

The lynx pigeon occurs mainly in the area around Halle (Saale) , in Saxony , Hesse and especially in Franconia and Bavaria . Outside of Germany you can find them in France , the Czech Republic , Denmark , Belgium , the Netherlands , England , Austria , the USA and in the border area of ​​the USA and Canada .
