Lucius Apronius Caesianus

Lucius Apronius Caesianus was a Roman senator and military officer in the 1st century AD

Caesianus was the son of Lucius Apronius , suffect consul in the year 8 and proconsul of the province of Africa (18/21). Caesianus served his father in Africa ; there he led successful battles with the cavalry and the cohorts of auxiliary troops against Tacfarinas and the Numidians, driving them into the desert. The father received the ornamenta triumphalia for this . In 32 Caesianus held the praetur and in 39 the ordinary consulate . Caesianus was also a member of the priesthood of the Septemviri epulonum .
