Lucius Flavius Fimbria
Lucius Flavius Fimbria was a 1st century Roman politician and suffect consul in 71.
He came from a family of the Roman Republic, which with Gaius Flavius Fimbria , 104 BC. Was consul with Gaius Marius , entered the nobility . Presumably he owes his rise to consulate under Emperor Vespasian (full name Titus Flavius Vespasianus) to this descent , because the emperor, who was not related to him, probably wanted to indicate his own descent from an old family of the republic. So the man, insignificant in itself, became one of the suffect consuls of the year 71, together with Gaius Atilius Barbarus . An inscription from Naples and a newly published military diploma show that the two officiated on July 20 and 30, respectively.
