Lucius Papirius Crassus (consular tribune 368 BC)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Lucius Papirius Crassus is said to be a politician of the early Roman Republic and 368 BC. Chr. Consular tribune .

He is named by the Fasti Capitolini and by the Roman historian Titus Livius in the fifth place of a six-member college of consular tribunes. According to the Fasti Capitolini , Papirius' father used the prenomen Spurius and his grandfather the prenomen Gaius . However, Diodorus only reproduces the first three of the six names mentioned by the Fasti Capitolini and Livius in his historical work , so that Papirius' name is missing from him. The ancient historian Friedrich Münzer concludes from this that the three names not listed by Diodorus, including that of Papirius, are forged.
