Lucius Sestius Albanianus Quirinalis

Lucius Sestius Albanianus Quirinalis was a Roman politician and senator .

Sestius came from a plebeian family and was a son of Publius Sestius , who lived from 48 to 47 BC. Was governor of Cilicia and for whom Cicero had given a speech in defense. Sestius was in 44 BC Follower of the Caesar slayer Marcus Junius Brutus . In 42 he was Proquaestor of Brutus in Macedonia . Octavian pardoned Sestius after the death of Brutus. In 23 BC Sestius became a suffect consul , between 22 and 19 he was a legate of the short-lived Transduriana province in northwestern Spain.

Horace dedicated the 4th ode of the first book to him, honoring the consul of 23 BC. BC, which was the year of publication of the first 3 books of the Odes.
