background

HBO ordered 12 episodes of the series, which aired in the summer of 2006. In September 2006, HBO announced the discontinuation of the series.

At first glance, Lucky Louie is a classic sitcom, inspired by the Norman Lear series . Like many classic sitcoms, the series tells the life of a simple working class family. Louis CK made a conscious decision to keep the set of his show simple and spartan. Issues related to sex and racism are addressed, among other things. In addition, some vulgar language is used.

HBO released the series on DVD on January 30, 2007. The DVD contains the unaired 13th episode as well as commentaries and a view of the recording set for an episode.
