Kim Hawthorne
Kimberly "Kim" Hawthorne (born April 19, 1968 in Jersey City , New Jersey ) is an American actress .
life and career
Kim Hawthorne was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theater from Birmingham-Southern College , Alabama . She then began her theater career at the Alliance Theater in Atlanta , Georgia . In the mid-1990s she moved to New York City , where she made her Broadway debut in the role of Queen in the musical The Life . Further appearances, including on Off-Broadway , followed.
Hawthorne made her acting debut in front of the camera in 1991, then still living in Atlanta, in a minor supporting role in the series In the Heat of the Night . In 1997 she starred for a while as Dana Kramer in the soap opera Another World . Since then, a number of guest appearances on US television followed, including Night Man , Outer Limits - The Unknown Dimension , Stargate - Kommando SG-1 , Dark Angel , Just Cause , Twilight Zone , The L Word - When women love women , Welcome, Mrs. President , CSI: Miami , Law & Order: LA , It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia , Rizzoli & Isles , Southland , Castle , Navy CIS: LA , Switched at Birth , Rosewood , Criminal Minds , How to Get Away with Murder or The Good doctor .
Hawthorne has also regularly appeared in supporting roles, for example as Theo in Jeremiah - Warriors of Thunder , from 2000 to 2005 as Det. Rose Williams in Da Vinci's Inquest , as Ellen in Lucky Louie , and in 2007 as Jada Temple in The Secrets of Whistler or 2014 as Gloria Barzman in Rake . Since 2016 she has played one of the leading roles in the series Greenleaf as Kerissa Greenleaf .
Her film appearances include works such as Crime is King , In the Spider's Web , Riddick: Chronicles of a Warrior or Kiss the Coach . Hawthorne has appeared in more than 70 film and television productions since the beginning of her career.
