Ludolf of Courland

Ludolf von Kurland (* unknown; † 1359 ) was Bishop of Courland and priest of the Teutonic Order .

As Provost of Courland, Ludolf was elected as his successor by the cathedral chapter after the death of Bishop John II of Courland and on March 14, 1354 by Pope Innocent VI. confirmed as such. Because of doubts about the validity of his election, he went to the papal curia , where the Pope cashed his election and, after Ludolf had renounced the election, appointed him bishop of Courland on his own authority.
