History and description
The two-storey classicist garden house was built in the middle of the first half of the 19th century . The architect was probably Georg Moller .
Typical classicist features are:
- the continuous cornice
- the symmetrically arranged lattice windows with folding shutters
- the flat sloping slate roof
- strikingly designed chimney heads
- clapboard facade
The garden house was used by Princess Elisabeth of Prussia as a summer house.
Monument protection
The garden shed is a typical example of the classical style in Darmstadt. For architectural and city-historical reasons, the building is a cultural monument .
