The Ludwig-Katz-Haus in the Wallhalber district of Oberhausen in the district of Südwestpfalz was built around 1800. The house at Zweibrücker Straße 2-4 is a protected cultural monument .

history

The Krüppel hipped roof building was acquired in 1904 by the Jewish cattle dealer Ludwig Katz, who was expropriated by the National Socialists in 1940 . Ludwig Katz was deported to the French camp Gurs with his wife Elsa in 1940. In August 1942 the couple were murdered in Auschwitz .

After the renovation work was completed, the building was inaugurated on September 7, 1987 as a meeting place for the community.
