Ludwig Ausserwinkler (born August 12, 1859 in Prague ; † 1933 ) was a German chemist, photographer and university professor at the German Technical University in Prague in the field of photography .

Life

Ausserwinkler was born in Prague in 1859 as the only surviving son of the Prague finance commissioner Ludwig Ausserwinkler (1816–1887) and his Styrian wife Mathilde, née. Grof (* 1834 Humpolec ) born. He graduated from a German grammar school in Prague-Lesser Town, where he began studying at the chemistry department of the German technical university . In 1876 he became a member of the Teutonia fraternity in Prague . From 1880 to 1888 he was assistant to the chair for chemical technology , from 1888 to 1923 professor for chemistry and goods science at the Prague Commercial Academy and from 1908 honorary professor for photography at the German technical university in Prague.

On July 30, 1881, he married Maria vom Siege Ludovika Baukal (* 1860) in the Lesser Town Church .

Teaching

Ausserwinkler specialized in general chemistry for montanists and technical chemistry for miners. He also advanced research in the field of chemical photography, such as the latent image and its development, at his newly established chair in Prague.
