Ludwig Bartels (politician, 1884)

Ludwig Bartels (* 1884 ; † after 1937) was a German government councilor and acting Lord Mayor from June 6, 1933, and Lord Mayor of Harburg-Wilhelmsburg from October 23, 1933 to March 30, 1937 . He was the successor to Mayor Walter Dudek , who was removed from office after the NSDAP came to power in the course of the Gleichschaltung , and who was a member of the SPD.

Bartels was a member of the DNVP from 1919 to 1924 and was then independent. On April 1, 1933, he joined the NSDAP . Before he took over the management of the city Harburg-Wilhelmsburg, he was Councilor in Lüneburg . For the office of Lord Mayor he was proposed by the Gauleiter of the Gaus Ost-Hannover Otto Telschow .

Bartels lost his mayor's office when Harburg-Wilhelmsburg was incorporated into Hamburg on April 1, 1937 as a result of the Greater Hamburg Act .
