Ludwig Doleschall
Carl Ludwig Doleschall (born July 15, 1827 in Neustadt an der Waag , † February 26, 1859 in Amboina , East India) was an Austrian entomologist .
Ludwig Doleschall was born as the son of the Protestant theologian Michael Doleschall . He first studied medicine at the universities in Pressburg and Vienna . In 1852 he joined the Dutch army as an army doctor.
In addition to his professional activity, Doleschall devoted himself intensively to the world of spiders. In 1852 he published the standard work Systematic Directory of the Spiders occurring in the Austrian Empire , in which the species occurring in the Hungarian part of the country were recorded for the first time. When he died, he left an extensive collection of beetles to the Budapest National Museum .
