history

In 1875 Johann Ludwig Görtz opened in Barmbek b. Hamburg opened his first men's shoe store in a space of 14 m². In 1938 another shop was opened in Hamburg. In 1959, the first branch outside of Hamburg was opened in Reutlingen. In 1970 Görtz 17 was established in Hamburg. In 1980 the shoe fashion brand Belmondo was founded, which is designed, produced and sold by the company itself. Görtz has been represented in Vienna since 1993, with further branches in Austria and, from 2006, in Poland. With the purchase of Pasito Fricker AG, the company was present in Switzerland from 2010 to 2014. In 2014, the Munich financial investor Afinum joins Görtz. The partnership is intended to advance the Internet business.

In 2015, the owner Ludwig Görtz gave up the chairmanship of the administrative board of the Hamburg shoe retailer Görtz. In the same year, the online shop was relaunched.

Görtz offers shoes, bags and accessories for women, men and children. In addition to own brands such as Cox and Another A, various designer brands such as Boss and Marc Cain are offered.

Görtz online shop

Görtz has been on the Internet with an online shop since 2003. Today around 10,000 items from the areas of shoes, bags and accessories are offered here, including collections from well-known brands. Since October 2010, Görtz has also had an online shop in Austria. In 2015 the online shop underwent a complete relaunch. The relaunch also included the integration of multichannel concepts such as “Check & Reserve” and “Click & Collect”, which enable customers to reserve shoes online in a branch of their choice or to pick up items that have already been paid for online.

Belmondo

Founded in 1980 as a subsidiary of Görtz, Belmondo is present in over 20 countries. In addition to women's and men's shoes, the brand has also been selling accessories such as belts, bags, small leather goods and sunglasses since 2006. Today Görtz offers Belmondo shoes as a private label.

Munich

The Görtz flagship store in Frankfurt opened in September 2008 and displays shoes and accessories for women, men and children on over 2,142 m². The most exclusive of all Görtz stores with a diverse range of international shoe and accessory fashion brands is in close proximity to the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

Opened in September 2005, the sales area extends over 1,400 m² over three levels. Shoes and accessories for women, men and children are on offer. Aachen
