Ludwig Graßler

Ludwig Graßler (born August 2, 1925 in Amberg ; † August 22, 2019 in Wolfratshausen ) was a German mountain hiker and author of hiking guides .

Life

Graßler, who originally worked as a horticultural engineer, was best known for his description of the dream path Munich – Venice , a long-distance hiking trail that leads from Marienplatz in Munich to St. Mark's Square in Venice. Graßler tried this route several times before he was able to tackle it for the first time in 1974. Today Graßler's route is one of the most popular long-distance hiking trails in Europe.

Ludwig Graßler lived in Wolfratshausen from 1964 until his death .
