Ludwig Haniel

Ludwig Haniel , called Louis Haniel (born November 25, 1817 in Ruhrort , † February 17, 1889 in Düsseldorf ) was a German entrepreneur.

Life

Ludwig Haniel was a son of Franz Haniel . He studied at the Bergakademie Freiberg , where he joined the Corps Franconia , which later made him an honorary boy. After completing his studies, he joined his father's company and from 1864 to 1872 was the managing director of the steelworks union and dealership Jacobi Haniel & Huyssen . In 1872 he founded the machine works Haniel & Lueg together with his nephew Franz Haniel junior and Heinrich Lueg.
