Ludwig Revolution

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Manga Ludwig Revolution ( Japanese ル ー ド ヴ ィ ッ ヒ 革命 , Rūdovihhi Kakumei ) comes from the pen of the Mangaka Kaori Yuki ( Angel Sanctuary , God Child ). In this manga, the Mangaka describes their perspective on the fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm . Accordingly, the fairy tales mostly run differently than known.

action

First volume

The central figure in the story is Prince Ludwig, who goes looking for a bride with his servant Wilhelm. Ludwig is an ambivalent character, necrophilous and a bishon . While searching for a bride, he meets a wide variety of fairy tale characters. Snow White turns out to be an extremely beautiful, but also extremely calculating power woman, who even gets into bed with Ludwig's father and who Prince Ludwig only wants to use to exercise power. Rotkäppchen, on the other hand, became a parental killer through an intrigue of Ludwig and now works as a hit man. However, your goal is to kill Ludwig. Sleeping Beauty, on the other hand, turns out to be a lonely soul who, through her own despair, fell into self-chosen isolation. The witch Dorothea appears here, whom Frederike (Sleeping Beauty) once cast with this ominous spell. And in the end, Ludwig fights Bluebeard for a wife, only to realize that Bluebeard is a wounded soul who resembles him.

Second volume

In the second volume Ludwig, also known as Lui for short, meets other princesses. In addition, Little Red Riding Hood pursues him as a contract killer and the ominous siblings Hansel and Gretel appear. In addition, at the beginning of the manga Luis alleged stepbrother Julius and his mother Petronella appear. These two are responsible for the fact that Little Red Riding Hood and later the siblings Hansel and Gretel try to eliminate Ludwig by all possible means so that Julius can claim the throne after the king's death. In the many shorter stories, Ludwig first meets Rapunzel , who is locked in a tower, but only because she has ghost hair. When Rapunzel gets angry, this hair can grow terribly long and kill people. Ludwig helps Rapunzel escape and later brings her together with Prince Silvio, who has long been in love with Rapunzel. In the rather unknown fairy tale Jungfrau Maleen , Ludwig meets Maleen, who is locked in a tower until Ludwig saves her. She does everything possible to marry him and is not afraid to pretend to be a princess. Ludwig sees through it and has to realize that Maleen is actually already dead. Transformed into the frog prince, he meets Princess Kathrein, who actually has no more ardent wish than to go to a real dance ball, not to own a golden ball. In The Goose Girl , Ludwig gets to know the Princess Albertina and her maid of the same name. He helps the otaku prince Christo to find the right Albertina. However, it turns out that the maid who was supposed to be the princess is the daughter of a witch and is just a maid. It also becomes clear why Falada, the maid's horse, could speak: it was a magic horse.

Third volume

The third part starts with the tragic life story of the siblings Hansel and Gretel and how they got their "job". After the failed attacks, Ludwig decides to return home, but on the way a landslide prevents him from continuing his journey. Then he meets two pretty sisters and their stepsister Cinderella . She loves to be unhappy and has a complex because of her "square slippers". The Cinderella once met the king's son "Balduin" (a sexually disinterested reptile fanatic) and has since fallen for him. During a ball that Ludwig helped her to get, Hansel and Gretel, who are holding Lisette (Little Red Riding Hood) as their hostage, reappear and realize that they have been given the task of eliminating their "angel" (Prince Ludwig). While the siblings do not know whether they should kill Ludwig or not, Baldwin discovers that it was Cinderella he once met in a meadow. After “Ascherl” had fled, the prince had her found with the help of the shoe she had borrowed from Ludwig. During a conversation in the palace's tropical house, it emerges that Ascherl had trampled Isolde, the prince's beloved gecko , and that he was now trying to take revenge on her. But when this disappears for a short time, Hansel and Gretel reappear with Lisette in their luggage and set the tropical house on fire, whereby they themselves go down in the blazing flames. In the last few seconds, Lui, Will, Ascherl (with Isolde in her blouse) and Lisette save themselves. When Baldwin realizes that Ascherl is not disgusted by his hobby like many others, he promises her to marry her. In the end, Ludwig assigns Lisette to find a certain person for him and continues his journey.
