Live and act

Born in 1894 as the third of eight children ( siwwe Buwe unn e girls ) Ludwig Kieffer spent almost his entire life in the typical Bärmesenser Milljöh . At the age of nine, he survived a cancer-related amputation of his right lower leg. Nevertheless, he continued to play hockey as a goalkeeper with a prosthesis and was still intensely committed to the sport at FK Pirmasens . As the city's traffic director, Kieffer was the first head of the Pirmasens traffic office. From 1938 he devised and directed the dispatch of letters from the city of Pirmasens to Pirmasens all over the world. Kieffer also founded the Pirmasens shoe and leather goods fair (1949), from which the Pirmasens international fair emerged . He drew his strength and creativity from his family. With his wife Friederike he had three children: Ruth, Hans and Ludwig. On the side, Kieffer worked as a journalist and had a section in the Pirmasens newspaper called " Die Rasierstubb " every Saturday . There he took various events locally and worldwide on the tip of the dialect pen. Kieffer drew and painted motifs from Pirmasens and the surrounding area. He was particularly taken with the sandstone rock formations and castles.

In 1967 Ludwig Kieffer died after several operations with his family. Today a street is named after him in his hometown.
