Ludwig Maria Freibüter

Ludwig Maria Freibüter (* 1920 in Münster ; † August 20, 2004 in Bonn ) was a German ministerial official.

Life

Ludwig Maria Freibüter studied at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . He did military service, was an officer and was taken prisoner by the British. He was sentenced to death by a National Socialist special court in April 1945; due to the end of the war, the sentence was not carried out.

After the war he completed his studies and was in Joseph Hoffner Dr. phil. PhD. He worked as a ministerial advisor at the Federal Government's Press and Information Office and on the ZDF television council.

He held numerous honorary positions. He was chairman of the old gentlemen's association of the Union of Scientific Catholic Student Associations Unitas (UNITAS) (1969–1984). For many years he was a representative of the UNITAS Association in the Central Committee of German Catholics , Chairman of the Commission for Journalism, President of the Catholic Academic Work of Germany (KAD) (1984–1986) and was committed to Catholic social teaching in the Krone district.

In 1973 he was accepted into the Order of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem in Cologne Cathedral . From 1984 to 1990 he was Chief Commander of the Commandery St. Martin Bonn.
