Catholic academic work in Germany
The Catholic Academic Work of Germany (KAD) is the amalgamation of several Catholic academic associations and organizations in the Federal Republic of Germany .
history
First, in 1948, the "Catholic German Academic Association KDA" was founded. Robert Frohn was President from 1959 to 1962.
On March 21, 1976, the KDA became the “Catholic Academic Work of Germany KAD”. Bernhard Servatius was the founding president from 1976 to 1980 .
purpose
The task of the community is to coordinate, support and promote the associated Catholic German academic associations "to jointly represent their interests and intensify their religious educational work while maintaining their respective independence". The aim is to improve academic work in the Catholic Church and promote engagement in society and the state.
organization
The KAD is run through a general assembly and a presidium. The executive committee is responsible for managing the KAD within the framework of the guidelines and resolutions given by the general assembly. It consists of the president, the first and the second chairman and up to six other members. These are elected for three years by the general assembly.
The KAD is a member of the Working Group of Catholic Organizations in Germany (AGKOD).
