Ludwig Ruhland

Ludwig Ruhland (born September 16, 1873 in Munich , † July 5, 1951 in Bad Brückenau ) was a clergyman and professor of moral theology at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg .

Live and act

Ludwig Ruhland studied theology in Munich and Freising, where he was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Munich-Freising . After a short pastoral activity, he was appointed Prefect at the Aufsessianum in Bamberg in 1897. After two years as a military pastor in Mainz from 1902 and a physics teacher in Berlin, he was divisional pastor and private lecturer in Münster from 1911 .

In 1913 he was offered a professorship for moral theology at the University of Würzburg , which he held until his retirement in 1938. Between 1922 and 1925 Ruhland was rector of the Würzburg University. He found his final resting place in the Heidingsfeld cemetery.

He was a member of the KDSt.V. Franco-Raetia zu Würzburg .
