Ludwig Schnorr von Carolsfeld (art historian)

Ludwig Schnorr von Carolsfeld (born September 22, 1877 in Dresden , † May 8, 1945 in Berlin ) was a German art historian .

Ludwig Schnorr von Carolsfeld, son of the Saxon officer Georg Schnorr von Carolsfeld (1848–1926), studied art history and classical archeology in Leipzig and Berlin from 1899 and received his doctorate in 1906 at the University of Leipzig under August Schmarsow . He then worked at the Castle Museum in Berlin as curator and professor. His specialty was the history of porcelain and ceramics.
