Ludwig Trapp von Trappensee (* July 11, 1596 - † July 16, 1655 ) was Mayor of Heilbronn from 1643 until his death in 1655 .

The merchant Ludwig Trapp was a member of the small council of the city of Heilbronn from August 22, 1635, before that he was a member of the large council in 1633, was tax owner from December 1, 1635 , and from 1643 to 1655 mayor of Heilbronn.

The Trapp family comes from the Wetterau and is documented in Heilbronn in the 15th century. The coat of arms of the Trapp family shows a silver Trapp wearing a crown. The Trapp is shown against a red background.

At the beginning of 1653, the Trapp merchant family in Heilbronn acquired the lake property on what was then the Orthensee , which then received the name Trappensee , which is still used today, after the new owners . Trapp was ennobled together with his brother, Schultheiß Johann Bernhard Trapp, on May 4, 1653, to become Trapp von Trappensee . He was married to Anna Maria Benderin (1588–1652) and had a son, Johann Ludwig Trapp (1621–1675).
