Ludwig Vogler

Ludwig Vogler (born June 14, 1850 in Hinterbrühl ; † December 10, 1923 ) was an Austrian lawyer , politician and person in the Austrian commercial cooperative system .

He worked from 1882 to 1907 in politics and was from 1882 to 1904 with brief interruptions Vienna City Council , 1891-1899 Vienna City Council , 1901-1907 Reichsrat . In the general association of self-help based commercial and economic cooperatives in Austria (from 1930 Austrian cooperative association , ÖGV) he was from 1888 to 1922 he was first a member of the select committee and later the full committee, where he chaired from 1913 to 1922.

Life and education

Vogler was born the son of a bookseller and began his legal work in the law firm Kienböck sen. and Lueger and worked as a lawyer in Vienna from 1878 . His political career began in 1882 and lasted until his complete retirement from political life in 1907. He was closely associated with the cooperative system from 1873 until his death in 1923.

Political career

He was elected to the Vienna City Council in 1882, to which he belonged with short interruptions until 1904, and was also at the head of the executive committee of the German progressive party. From 1891 to 1899 he was responsible for the school department as a Viennese city councilor. From 1901 to 1907 he was a member of the House of Representatives of the Austrian Reichsrat as a representative of the 2nd district of Vienna.

Functions in the cooperative system

In 1873 he took part in the founding of the Neubauer credit association and became a member of the board. In the General Association he was a member of the Select Committee from 1888, took over the chairmanship of the negotiations of the General Association days in 1912, was unanimously elected chairman of the entire committee in 1913 and remained in this function until 1922. From 1891 he was director of the Association of Advance Funds Associations of Vienna, for which he applied for and received the independent right of revision in 1903.
