Ludovit Václav Lachnit

Ludovit Václav Lachnit (in German-speaking countries : Ludwig Wenzel Lachnitt or Lachnith , born July 7, 1746 in Prague , † October 3, 1820 in Paris ) was a Czech horn player and composer.

Lachnit was a member of the court orchestra in Zweibrücken. He went to Paris, where he studied composition with Jean-Joseph Rodolphe Horn and François-André Danican Philidor and performed as horn player at the Concert Spirtuel . He composed numerous instrumental works, but was best known for his pasticcios , especially Les Mystères d'Isis , an arrangement of Mozart's Die Zauberflöte .
