Ludwig von Pfullendorf
Ludwig von Pfullendorf (mentioned for the first time in 1131; † January 28, 1135 in Tuttlingen ) was abbot of the Reichenau monastery from 1131 until his murder in 1135 .
Ludwig von Pfullendorf came from the Swabian noble family of the Counts von Pfullendorf , who had their headquarters in Linzgau and Hegau . He was a son of Count Ludwig von Pfullendorf-Ramsberg zu Stoffeln, who had his seat at Hohenstoffeln Castle .
Ludwig von Pfullendorf was made abbot of the Reichenau monastery after the death of Rudolf von Böttstein . Little is known, however, about his work during his four-year term of abbat.
He was killed on January 28, 1135 in front of the altar of the church in Tuttlingen by Reichenauer Ministerials . Nothing is known about the exact background of the crime. Ludwig von Pfullendorf was buried in the vestibule of the Reichenau Laurentius Chapel.
