Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services ("LBAS" for short) is a maintenance company for Bombardier Business Jets.

history

The company was founded in 1997 as a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik AG and the Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace. The Swiss ExecuJet Group is now the third partner of the joint venture with a 20 percent stake ( Lufthansa Technik AG : 51 percent; Bombardier: 29 percent). The company based at Berlin-Schönefeld Airport with an area of ​​around 8,000 square meters is the first Bombardier Service Center outside of North America.

LBAS was the first European MRO company to make detailed modifications to the altitude measurement systems of Bombardier jets to meet the more stringent requirements for flying in the upper airspace (Reduced Vertical Separation Minima, RVSM).
