Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services ("LBAS" for short) is a maintenance company for Bombardier Business Jets.
history
The company was founded in 1997 as a joint venture between Lufthansa Technik AG and the Canadian aircraft manufacturer Bombardier Aerospace. The Swiss ExecuJet Group is now the third partner of the joint venture with a 20 percent stake ( Lufthansa Technik AG : 51 percent; Bombardier: 29 percent). The company based at Berlin-Schönefeld Airport with an area of around 8,000 square meters is the first Bombardier Service Center outside of North America.

The range of services includes the entire range of maintenance and overhaul (line and base maintenance), fuselage inspections, engine and tire service, right through to repair and modification work. In addition to extensive MRO services (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) on aircraft of the Bombardier types Learjet , Challenger and Global , Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services is a certified Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) and is authorized to work on all of them within the scope of the manufacturer's guarantee To carry out Bombardier patterns.
From the supply of spare parts to cabin equipment
As a member of the international service group of Lufthansa Technik AG , LBAS with its more than 170 employees offers the operators of private and business aircraft support for their aircraft. This includes a mobile AOG repair team (Aircraft on Ground), a spare parts store for a spare parts supply. LBAS also takes care of the cabin equipment and on-board systems. In addition to repairs and renovation measures for the cabin interior, the program also includes retrofitting and modifying the on-board electronics. LBAS was the first European MRO company to make detailed modifications to the altitude measurement systems of Bombardier jets to meet the more stringent requirements for flying in the upper airspace (Reduced Vertical Separation Minima, RVSM). The Berlin maintenance company is authorized by Bombardier to carry out system integrations such as the installation of the TCAS (Traffic Collision Avoidance System) and the EGPWS (Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System) as well as weather radar upgrades.
The provider of MRO services for Bombardier business aircraft in Europe, the Middle East and Africa has grown faster than the business aviation market.
