Air-jet spinning

The air-jet spinning process is an industrial spinning process in which a swirl of compressed air is used to create a solid sheath of twisted fibers that wraps around and strengthens a fiber core. The center of the yarn remains almost free from yarn twist.

The air-jet spinning process is a technology newly developed in Germany around 1997 with high processing speed and integrated processing, in which cotton and polyester yarns as well as mixed yarns with fineness of 10 to 40 tex can be produced. All three processes in spinning, namely roving production, the actual spinning process and the subsequent winding, can be carried out on a single machine. However, it requires fibers that are as uniform and long as possible.
