Luis Alberto Escobedo

Luis Alberto Escobedo (born September 3, 1962 in Santiago del Estero ) is a former Argentine soccer player .

The midfielder began his career at Los Andes in 1982 . In 1983 he moved to Belgrano , with whom he played in the Primera División and in 1984 reached the quarter-finals of the Argentine championship. In 1985 the club was relegated and he went back to Los Andes. In 1988 and 1989 he was with Colón . In 1990 he moved to the Santiago Wanderers in the Chilean Primera División . There he was banned in 1991 after a positive doping test for amphetamine . Then he went back to Argentina, first to Vélez Sársfield and in 1994 again to Belgrano. From 1996 to 1999 he stood byTemperley under contract. He ended his career at Sportivo Dock Sud in 2000.

Escobedo was a soldier in the Falklands War in 1982 and saw football as a therapy for his war experiences.
