Luis Ayala (politician)

Luis Ayala is a Chilean politician from the Partido Radical Social Demócrata .

From 1973 to 1975 Ayala was chairman of the SI youth organization International Union of Socialist Youth (IUSY). He has been General Secretary of the Socialist International (SI) since 1989 and was last re-elected in September 2012. The opponent was the Swede Mona Sahlin , who is assigned to the reform forces. He has been criticized in particular for his negative attitude towards reforms and his little by little increased power.
