Veit Medick

Veit Medick (* 1980 ) is a German journalist . He is editor in the capital office of the magazine Der Spiegel .

Life

Veit Medick is a son of the German historian Hans Medick and the cultural scientist Doris Bachmann-Medick .

Medick studied political science and international relations in Göttingen , Berlin (2002) and Cairo (2005). During his studies he did various internships at newspapers in Hamburg and Berlin and worked as a freelancer for the Financial Times Deutschland and Welt Online, among others .

From 2007 he worked as a trainee at Die Tageszeitung in Berlin, then as an editor in the domestic affairs department . From 2009 he was political editor in Spiegel Online's Berlin office . With an Arthur F. Burns Fellowship grant , he spent two months as a reporter for The Miami Herald newspaper in 2012 .

From July 2015, he worked for two years as a correspondent for the news magazine Der Spiegel in Washington, DC Since August 2017, Medick has been an editor in the magazine's capital office.
