Luis García Postigo (born June 1, 1969 in Mexico City ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of striker . He was one of the key players for the Mexican national soccer team in the 1990s.

His club career began in 1987 with the UNAM Pumas , for which he played until 1992. After stints in Spain at Atlético Madrid and Real Sociedad San Sebastián , he returned to Mexico around the turn of the year 1994/95 and played for America , Atlante , Guadalajara , Morelia and Puebla . He scored 158 goals in the Primera División de México . He played 79 times for his country and scored 29 goals. He also took part in the World Cup in 1994 and 1998 .

After his football career, he worked as a commentator for TV Azteca , one of the largest Mexican TV stations . He left TV Azteca after receiving an offer to become president of his ex-club Monarcas Morelia.

Luis García Postigo was married to actress Kate del Castillo from 2001 to 2004 .
