Luis Lamas

Luis María Galo de la Santísima Trinidad Lamas Reguera (* 1793 , † 1864 in Rosario , Argentina ) was a Uruguayan politician .

Lamas was a member of the Asamblea Constituyente y Legislativa del Estado Oriental (1828-1830). He belonged to the Partido Conservador and held a mandate as senator for the Department Canelones from March 6, 1854 to July 15, 1854. That year he also served as Senate Vice-President. He was at the end of the presidency of Venancio Flores Barrios during the uprising of the Conservatives ( Rebelión de los conservadores ) of 29 August 1855 to 11 September 1855 controlled by the capital Montevideo forces de facto to the President of Uruguay as Gobernador Provisorio proclaimed. He then took his seat for the Department Canelones in the Senate from February 13, 1856 to July 15 of the same year and held other government offices until 1860.
