Luis Mendez de Vasconcellos
Luis Mendez de Vasconcellos (* 1543 in Évora ; † March 7, 1623 in Valletta ) was the 55th Grand Master of the Order of Malta in Malta .
He was born in Évora, the son of the Portuguese nobleman Francisco Mendes de Vasconcelos and his wife Isabel Pais de Oliveira.
He entered the Order of Malta and belonged to the Castilian tongue of the order. After the Grand Master Alof de Wignacourt died on September 14, 1622, he was elected his successor on September 17. He served only six months before he died in March 1623.
