Luis Quiñones de Benavente
Luis Quiñones de Benavente (* 1581 in Toledo , Spain ; † August 25, 1651 in Madrid ) was a Spanish playwright and, after Miguel de Cervantes, the most important author of short plays ( Spanish : Entremés ).
Quiñones de Benavente wrote almost 900 pieces, around 150 of which can still be identified in the original. Numerous modern stage twists (Spanish: Sainetes ) fall back on his work.
